Gene Okerlund on Nick Bockwinkel, Mr Fuji, Larry Hennig & Ray Stevens
To me, this is one of the best shoot interviews ever. After I first heard this interview, I wished he had a podcast. Then when I heard a couple episodes of his podcast, I wish he woulda stuck with these occasional shoot interviews lol. I’ll just say… If you wanna hear him ramble on about his TDS every 5 mins, it’s the podcast for you. 😂🤷🏾♂️😅
Cody Rhodes wearing the Red White & Blue today.... Biggest baby face since Hogan.
The interviewer is just spewing toxic crap. No one says Bret is overrated or hard to work with. Except Ric Flair. Who is jealous
Right, I'm supposed to believe roided up Vince McMahon, whose entire physique at the time was composed of all show, no go, musculature, would have had the upper hand against Bischoff in a shoot fight. McMahon tore both his quads by simply walking to the ring. Be realistic.
That Vince Russo’s a plant take is something I never thought about 🤔
Does anybody like this dude?
Wild how warrior died next day after being voted in hall of fame
Gene Mean...not.
I was always a fan of his Kama the extreme fighting machine gimmick. Great guy!
Sounds like he respects people who show him respect.
I mean considering what happens to Chris candido years later. I don't blame the macho man for it.
Great match and always good to see hot Mimi wrestling!
🤣 Sid legit thought that Warrior was trying to punk him offscreen lookin for the camera.
Outstanding Performance by my sexy wrecking machine Holidead ❤❤
Teddy is nuts. Total malfunction.
Haku was living in central Florida and I ran into him at a grocery store and he was so nice and I'll always remember that.
I'm sure he was "fired" but I'll bet he got paid. He protected kayfabe. That was HUGE back in the day
This guy says every other wrestler can't work. Except him. That's why people find him bitter
What a great man he was.
Bad thing about Jimmy Snuka was his bad temper & his drug addiction (he probably murdered his girlfriend in May 1983 but Vince McMahon covered it all up) but other than that Snuka was a tremendous athlete & a great wrestler.
6 hrs tlking wow how did u do it for 400k poor guy
I actually met the Living Legend Larry Zybszko & he was really friendly & professional. Compared to either Greg the Hammer Valentine, or Tito Santana, & Brutus the Barber Beefcare who was unprofessional, or three sheets to the wind, & seem like a bunch of pricks.
Dude is disconnected.
The opinions in that focus group had a big influence on Eric so much so that WCW relied heavily on the element of surprise. Surprise within a story can be good, but relying on it for success is not. They rode it into the surprise angle into the ground. People can say they want surprise, what they really love is the hits.
Bischoff didn’t do his job and train and manage Goldberg properly because he didn’t know what he was doing either. He could’ve done an injury angle that left him on the shelf for 6 months while protecting the streak and had Dusty and Arn teach him the basics of wrestling like how not to hurt himself or others.
Notice how interviews before chris benoit tragedy, no one had anything bad to say
What a voice. Who doesn't miss Mean Gene?
Jims in better shape anyone from back in day
Thank you so much for these full interview videos
It's nice to hear Bret actually presented the Hart Foundation idea, it would've also given Benoit and Jericho a push, as well as given a spot for Neidhart and Bulldog, who basically did nothing during their time in WCW.
Wrestlemania 10 was pressed for time because Shawn and Razor just laid in the middle of the ring doing nothing for as long as possible. Another match 5 against 5 was cut ! Earthquake and Adam Bomb given one minute. That's one that I would have liked to have seen again. They did have a "rematch" but it seems like they could have done it a couple more times and make it more of a feud. Adam Bomb was underutilized in the 1995 era where WWF just had people like Mantaur, Duke Drose and all those other filler guys from the 1995 Shawn/Bulldog Rumble. Bret versus Hakushi is filler, but Diesel versus King Mabel is in main event for the championship lol..
Good old mean gene, even if wrestling was real he could make it sound fake.
Hogan made wwf and wcw
BOBBY. AND. JIMMY. HART. BOTH. BEST. MANGERS. OF. ALL. TIMES
Well he was the Narcissist at one point right???
So Scott Hall sucker punched a sleeping man, says more about Scott Hall and it is not good.
He’s like a great version of what KO try’s to do. Athletic big guy…
I grew up watching "Mean Gene" when he was doing interviews for the AWA. The was the best in the business.
Smooth as silk voice and infinite charisma
Always loved this guy. RIP Mean Gene. Definately the most underappreciated and underrated sports entertainment broadcasters of all time.
Roddy would slap the taste out of this chump's mouth. Running his mouth on a dead guy? More like low rent Brown.
I always had a fantasy that Bret would betray Hogan by joining Flair, Sting & Luger as The Four Horsemen in '99. Far better than what we got by him going NWO. Just my opinion.
lots of tawdry jabronies in the comments
This man had a slave 😂
🔥🔥🔥
Luger was overrated
It boggles my mind about how fondly they speak of the WWF when they were treated so poorly. And, they have all manner of contempt for WCW where they made all their money.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Did Big Kev give the blueprint for Evolution at the end?
Why do people refer to WWF as New York when they're really from f****** Connecticut
